Jami Smith is a dedicated advocate for visual communication with years of experience collaborating on award-winning print and video journalism projects. She has won dozens of national and international awards for her work in design, photo editing and video editing. In 2005, she was one of six Mercury News employees who traveled to Mississippi to help produce the Biloxi Sun Herald in the days following Hurricane Katrina, earning a Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. In 2017, she was part of the team at the East Bay Times, which was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting for coverage of a fatal warehouse fire in Oakland.
